This elegant annual event celebrates extraordinary individuals and organizations whose contributions and efforts advance Golden West’s mission priorities. Guests will enjoy a festive evening featuring cocktails and wine tasting, a silent and live auction, gourmet dinner, celebrity guests, lively musical entertainment, and the presentation of Golden West’s highest honors, The Essey Awards.

Birkie Week kicks off on Wednesday February 21, with different ski events each day until Saturday, February 24th. 


February 24, 2024. Milwaukee, WI. ALS Association: ALS Night with the Admirals

Join us for a pre-game party with live music, food and drinks, a special commemorative item and more, followed by the game where the Admirals will dominate on the ice against the Chicago Wolves.


March 2, 2024. Kansas City, MO. ALS Association: A Night of Hope Gala.

Night of Hope is The ALS Association’s premier dining event. This event brings together 500+ guests for a delicious dinner, a live auction, and award presentations to cap off another year of progress.


March 8, 2024. Boston, MA. ALS ONE: Snow Ball Gala.

Our annual Snow Ball Gala is our most beloved, anticipated, and important event of the year to support our critical research and care.


March 10-12, 2024. Online. Hope Loves Company: Virtual Hope Loves Company Camp

Virtual Camp HLC will take place over the course of a weekend, from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon (just like traditional Camp HLC). We will enjoy games and activities, develop friendships, and chat with peers who share in our experiences. 


March 16, 2024. Orlando, FL. ALS Association: Walk to Defeat ALS Orlando

Walk around Lake Eola Park while supporting bold and urgent innovation as we march together toward a treatment and ultimately a cure for ALS.


March 17th, 2024. New York, NY. ALS TDI: United Airlines NYC Half Marathon 2024

On Sunday, March 17, 2024, our runners will complete the 13.1-mile run through the streets of NYC to raise awareness for ALS TDI.


March 23, 2024. Sarasota, FL. ALS Association: Walk to Defeat ALS Sarasota.

Walk around Payne Park while supporting bold and urgent innovation as we march together toward a treatment and ultimately a cure for ALS.


March 23, 2024. Des Moines, IA. ALS Association: ALS Night with the Iowa Wild

Enjoy a night out watching hockey while supporting ALS research! If you are currently living with ALS, we'd like to invite you and one caregiver or companion to join us with two complimentary tickets to the game.

Weekly Support Groups & Webinars: 

  • Monthly online yoga and meditation, and support groups for veterans, LGBTQ+, trach and vent support, familial ALS, grief, people living in various parts of California and Hawaii, Spanish speakers, and open to all looking for community. ALS Association Golden West Chapter
  • Weekly support groups for veterans, patients and caregivers, weekly committee meetings for people looking to advocate, and monthly support groups for people in Chicago and bereavement support. I AM ALS
  • Monthly support groups for mothers of patients with ALS, caregivers, women with ALS, men with ALS, those who have lost a loved one to ALS, and a gathering focused on trauma awareness and healing as well as a quarterly support group for veterans with ALS. Compassionate Care ALS

Mark Your Calendars:

Various dates. New Jersey, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Georgia, and California. Hope Loves Company: Hope Loves Company Camp. Camp HLC is typically a three-day, overnight retreat for children and young adults, ages 6-21, who have or have had a loved one battling ALS. Families are invited as well. It is an opportunity to have fun, be challenged through team building exercises, and meet peers who are going through a similar experience. Camp HLC is provided free for our ALS families by Hope Loves Company and our sponsors. All meals and activities are included. Camp HLC offers so many fun experiences, including hikes, games, zip lines, rock climbing, boating, fishing, a ropes course, archery, yoga, arts and crafts, group therapy sessions, music, and much more. 


April 13, 2024. Chicago, IL + Online. Les Turner ALS Foundation: 36th Annual Hope Through Caring Gala. This year, as for the past 35 years, the Les Turner ALS Foundation will bring together Chicago's top minds in ALS research and care, business, academics, philanthropy, and most importantly, people living with ALS, for one of the city's most elegant and most prestigious black-tie optional events of the year.


October 5, 2024. Boston, MA. ALS TDI: White Coat Affair Gala. Please join us for an evening of cocktails, dinner, and live music as we honor our close friends and family members with ALS. 


October 21-24, 2024. Clearwater, FL + Online. NEALS: 2024 Annual NEALS Meeting. Each year the Northeast ALS Consortium (NEALS) holds an annual meeting to review current ALS research and member initiatives, to discuss potential new therapies, and to prepare our membership for clinical trials in ALS. 


November 3, 2024. New York, NY. ALS TDI: TCS New York City Marathon 2024. 

Team ALS TDI features runners from all over the globe with one universal mission, finding a cure for ALS. On Sunday, November 3rd, our runners will complete the 26.2 mile run around all five boroughs of NYC to raise awareness for ALS TDI.


November 13, 2024. Chicago, IL. Les Turner ALS Foundation: 2024 Chicago Marathon. The funds you raise go toward our mission provide the most comprehensive care and support to people living with ALS and their families so that they can confidently navigate the disease, and advance scientific research for the prevention, treatment, and cure of ALS.


December 6-8, 2024. Montreal, Canada. MND Association: 35th International Symposium on ALS/MND

Each year, the Symposium attracts over 1,000 delegates, representing the energy and dynamism of the global MND research community. It is the largest medical and scientific conference specific to MND/ALS and is the premier event in the MND research calendar for discussion on the latest advances in research and clinical management.
