Today, we are thrilled to share a pivotal milestone in our journey at Roon: a $15M Series A funding round to further our mission of building a compassionate, reliable health guide for everyone. This round is co-led by Rick Heitzmann from FirstMark and Eurie Kim from Forerunner, with continued support from early investors, including Soraya Darabi from TMV and Jess Lee from Sequoia Capital.
Roon was inspired by our own deeply personal experiences. Vikram and Arun both faced the harsh realities of caregiving—Vikram during his father’s battle with ALS and Arun with his family’s experience of dementia. Both struggled to find expert guidance, navigate the overwhelming complexity of medical information, and make sense of unreliable online advice, often turning to "Doctor Google" only to be left with more questions than clarity. And Rohan, as a brain tumor surgeon, witnessed the stark reality of the limited—and sometimes harmful—resources for patients battling life-threatening illnesses. These experiences revealed a universal truth: at some point, everyone becomes a patient or caregiver and Roon exists to guide that journey with clarity and compassion.
Our vision is simple but profound: to make expert medical knowledge accessible, compassionate, and reliable for all.
At the core of Roon is a dedication to amplifying the voices of medical creators and science communicators—individuals on the frontlines of providing accurate, accessible health information. Their work has never been more critical. Every day, over 1 billion health-related searches happen on Google. Yet, with doctors often limited to 15-minute consultations, the demand for reliable, personalized answers far exceeds what traditional care models can provide. Today, Roon partners with thousands of leading physicians from over 50 renowned institutions—including Harvard, Stanford, UCSF, Weill Cornell and Columbia—to scale their expertise and reach people far beyond the clinic. Our platform serves as a trusted guide, bridging the gap between the care people need and the information they can trust.
In just 18 months, Roon has made a powerful impact: helping caregivers advocate for loved ones, guiding families through serious illnesses, supporting couples navigating IVF, and connecting women with treatments for conditions like PCOS and endometriosis. Time and again, users tell us the same thing—they want Roon to be there for all their health questions.
This funding marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. With it, we’ll expand our platform to cover hundreds of conditions, including critical areas like women’s health, cancer, neurology, metabolic health, and pediatrics. Health is deeply personal, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to the right guidance at the right time.
Roon is more than just a company – it’s a movement to reimagine how we care for ourselves and one another. If you’re passionate about creating a better future for health, we invite you to join us. Let’s build something extraordinary together.
Explore our open roles and be part of our journey.
Thank you for believing in our mission—we’re only just getting started.
Sincerely,
Vikram, Arun, and Rohan
